Today’s Message with Rev. Emma Ogiemudia

Last Sunday we talked about Attitude. We saw that Attitude is the expression of how we think and that it is a product of our philosophies, our beliefs. We saw that philosophies are based on the things we see and watch.

Today by God’s grace, go into the area of God’s Word. That the things you see or watch, they affect you in a way that you are what you watch.

Now, get the sequence again; Your attitude is the expression of the way you think. The way you think is your philosophies or your beliefs and that is informed by what you see.

Do you want a better life? Do you know what that ‘better’ will entail? What is your definition of Better? Some desire to be better but never get to it because they do not see it. You only move towards what you see. Your life progresses to ward what it sees.

Until you define that Betteryou can not attain it. The reason we struggle is because, again we want to get better but do not know what that better really is. Now, it is not about being better per se, it is about being who God says you are. Your vision should be who God says you be.

What God says I am is not how I look. What God says I have is not be what I have. Apparently, the physical life is at variance to what God says I am and have so, now my aspiration will now be who God says I am like Abraham. Abram strove to become who God says He is. I have made you a Father of many nations (Rom 4:17 kjv). Was that how he was? Bible says, Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.” (Rom 4:18 kjv)

Being better is seeing and being who God says you are. Your vision should be what God said.

Now, a better you would be A New Creation. One walking in the light and grace of God. One endowed and showing the hand of the Almighty, as God says it is with the saints. If you think better is just being some mundane things, you will keep on struggling but when I understand that being better is being who God says I am, having what He says I have then I strive towards being who He says I am. Now, if I don’t see who He says I am, I could never be it. Seeing what God says is pivotal. It is paramount to your being. It is good to hear what God says but more importantly, see what He says. Your change depends on what you see God say. You may have heard of the scriptures, heard of the word of God, heard of the great things of God and His works but until you see it, you will not change. Your change is based on seeing.

In Jeremiah 1:11“Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” (kjv)

The word came to Jeremiah and then God spoke to Him. The word came to Jeremiah but the word was a picture of something and then, what do you see of what I showed you? and he said, I see the rod or a branch of an Almond tree. and the He said, you have seen well. So, that tells me that there can be a situation where a man can be seeing but not seeing well.

Now, it says you have seen well and I am ready to perform my word. In other words, performance of the word is a function of the word you see. Now, the things happening in your life are a function of the things you see. what are you seeing? what are you watching? what do you give your eyes to? Your life is a product of the things you see. Your life is a product of the things you watch. Your life’s out look is a mirror or a show to you and everybody else of the things you watch or see.

Your eyes, they program your life.

Here is a story about Jacob. it is one you know very well. Jacob served his uncle Laban for many years, for his 2 wives, Leah and Rachael. About time to go and he asked for his wag, besides the wives he received.
